A book entitled “Indian Organizations of Malaysia” — a comprehensive database of 90 Indian-based organisations in Malaysia — was launched by Works Minister and MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu, here Wednesday.

The 122-page book, compiled by Manikam Krishnan and published by Info Source Network, is the only publication of its kind, which covers a range of multifarious activities in the fields of social welfare, community development, educational aid, religion and spirituality, arts and many others.

During the launch, Samy Vellu said the contribution of Indian organisations in community services was significant and the government provided financial assistance and supported them so that they could to enhance their involvement in all activities of the community.

“Indian organisations need to pool their resources to achieve greater success in delivering tangible services to the Indian community,” he said.
