Datuk Siti Nurhaliza hopes to dazzle everyone, when she walks down the red carpet during the 49th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday. Apart from her dress, to be designed by Datuk Bernard Chandran, and glittering jewellery sponsored by Chopard, she has one more ace up her sleeve – she’s keeping her fingers crossed that she’ll be able to get her husband, businessman Datuk Khalid Muhammad Jiwa, to accompany her. 

“I’m still trying to persuade him to walk with me down the red carpet,” said the beauty during a chat with the media at a hotel yesterday. 

For the next couple of days Siti will be busy attending fittings with the famous designer for her dress. 

“At this moment I can’t visualise my dress yet. I know it will be a black and white ensemble. But Bernard told me it will be a conservative design with a modern touch. It will also feature kerawang motives prominently.” 

Siti will be the first Malaysian to be given the honour of walking down the red carpet meant for invited celebrities at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. 

“It is a dream come true for an artiste and singer like me! Then when I was told that I would walk down the red carpet, I just couldn’t believe it.”
